Jared,

Thank you for your comment. The first thing I want to get out of the way is that by using the word "gay," I didn't mean stupid. I meant homosexual. If you're familiar with the movie, it's largely interested in portraying Alexander the Great as the homosexual that he allegedly was. But anyway...

Yes, I am a pretty polarizing person. I do agree with those distinctions that you mentioned, with conservatives being generally "good" and liberals being generally "bad." I'm not going to apologize for it.

I also don't feel the need to pull any punches when talking about politics. I've grown up in New Jersey and go to college in Massachusetts, and my opinion is in the minority. There are a few rare exceptions, but generally the Northeastern liberal establishment has zero tolerance for the conservative viewpoint. They censor, marginalize, belittle, and ignore conservative students like myself. This includes both the student body and faculty.

All my life I've been called a Nazi, a racist, an ignoramus, a religious zealot, a homophobe and a misogynist. Every Republican I know is treated this way.

Look at the way liberals talk about the White House. Bush is called a moron, a drunk, and characterized as Hitler. Condi is a called a black whore who is being tricked by the white man. Rumsfeld is a trigger-happy oil-hungry barbarian.

I'm not bitter about it, it's liberals' right to attack me for the opinions I hold and the agendas I pursue. That's politics. But don't act like I'm supposed to turn the other cheek.

In case you haven't noticed, we live in a particularly partisan time period in American politics. I look forward to a non-partisan future to be enjoyed by perhaps my grandchildren, but I hold no illusions about the adversarial dynamic that Republicans and Democrats are working with.

I'd be surprised if you actually do. Would you like to try again?

Wow you're a really polarizing person when it comes to politics. Conservatives = good, liberals =bad, eh? And how sad you use gay as a synonym for stupid. Remove head from sand and try again.

Oh, really? That sparse, crude, simple-minded web page is all I need to know about global cooling?

The author uses words like "shit" (twice) and "fucking".

He or she describes the sun's temperature as "like, a billion degrees".

His or her "figures" appear to have been drawn on MS Paint.

The primary evidence employed to support these assertions include the movies "Apollo 13" and "Armageddon".

The page you so kindly posted here to educate me is something less than scientific. What it actually is, appears to be some arrogant loser with just the wrong amount of time on their hands. They have too much time on their hands because only someone with no life would write an article like that, and too little because there doesn't seem to be any effort or research put into it.

Turning back to the science, the primary threat posed by reduced atmospheric ozone is the increase in harmful UV rays. It's caused by CFCs and other compounds, not CO2 emissions.

It has nothing to do with global warming. It's a different segment of the environmental movement that global warming hysterics are pathetically and hopelessly trying to integrate into their propaganda.

A quick look at the article at wikipedia says it straight up:

"Although they are often interlinked in the mass media, the connection between global warming and ozone depletion is not strong."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ozone_depletion

Don't take my word for it, read all about it for yourself. There's a whole section on it.

One year it's CO2, the other it's CFCs. One year we're worried about higher temperatures, the other we're worried about lower temperatures.

It is a defining characteristic of scientific theory that it must be falsifiable. If it is impossible to prove something wrong with evidence, then the theory doesn't count.

When environmentalists claim that yearly temperature increases as well as yearly decreases support their theory, then it is impossible to falsify and is thus not scientific.

It's just crazy person talk. That's all it is.

I certainly hope that it's avoidable. I sure want it to be.

If Romney is on the ticket, then I'd be compelled to support McCain. In short, it would quell my fears significantly.

But to be honest, how much would it really change things? I'm not sure I can answer that question right now.

I like what you say, of course, but how would you feel about Romney going as the Veep to McCain? Brendan told me you were thinking about going to the other side of the aisle; while that's understandable, don't you think it could be avoidable in this case?

I know you're a fan of Ann Coulter, but let's not spiral into a deathspin of blustery rhetorical hyperbole just yet. Next thing you know you'll be building an underground fallout shelter for the End Times.
